The failure of an fc normally happens in one of several ways. Often a leader tries to take too much on themselves. They try to micro manage every ascept of the fc and that often leads to a wide range of issues that go unaddressed. In contrast to that, some free companies have far too many leaders. The result of this leads to leaders not communicating with each other, people fail to understand their rolls, leaders fighting for power and conflicting ideas being put into place without proper evaluation. I have structured the fc so that these problems do not affect us.
Over the next few weeks I will be instructing our leaders on exactly what their rolls are so that we do not have leaders clashing. This may mean that I need to restructure the ranks. We will just have to see how this works.
Up to this point I have given leaders a choice in how much they do with and for the fc. From this point on I shall set a specific set of guidelines for each roll. This means that I will be asking more of our leaders. ( if you are in a lead position and do not want advanced responsibility, let me know and I will find a place for you in the fc that better fits your play style)
To better understand I will explain more about the fc with a brief history. NoAd first started but Lux and Luna. The two of them had a vision for the fc that was not fully realized. They wanted to make it a place that people could come to enjoy the full extent of the game. They saw people in the game struggling to clear content and build social relationships. So they built NoAd from the ground up to help as many people as possible. I share their vision and even though they are no longer with us, I feel that this company has all the tools to make that vision a reality. This company is not just about content. It is about helping to build a better community like that one that was in FF11, hence or fc’s name.
Now ill get to my point. I am looking for fc members that share my passion for this fc to help me lead it. I would be a fool to attempt this on my own. I need volunteers to give their time to help this fc reach its full potential. Im not going to lie, Its going to be time consuming, Its going to be stressful, its going to be hard work. However, the result of your hard work will be extremely rewarding. You will be a part of not only a new chapter in this fc but the community of the game as a whole.
First off I need volunteers for the officer position. The officers will be social ambassadors for the fc and aid in community organization. As an officer you will:
• Seek out new members
• Help current members feel appreciated and welcome
• Help new members get organized
• Aid in fc promotion
• Promote the spirit of the fc
• Report problems to the council, loki and kai
• Fix simple issues (use best judgment)
• Take notes on issues that come up
• Suggest members for permotion
What you will not do as an officer.
• Try to fix complex problems on your own ( seek advice from council)
• Threaten members with bans ( if you think a members need a warning speak to the council)
• Demote members
I would advise the officers to not take on more than they can handle. Speak to the council if you are unsure
I may rebuild the council. I will hand select officers that go above and beyond in their duties to be council members. The roll of the council:
• Advise officers
• Promote/kick members ( it is not required but I ask you speak to me before kicking people)
• Create new linkshells and events for the fc
• Vote on major issues
• Think of fc members before yourself
• Hold meetings often
• Handle difficult situations by using your best judgment. When doing this please address the situation critically. Leave emotion and personal beliefs at the door
• Make sure that things in the fc are getting done
As for all other members. You do not have to do anything that you do not want to do. If you are asked to do something it is your right to politely say no. you do not have to participate in fc events but understand that events can greatly enhance your gaming experience. And remember, never stop asking questions.
